Student Workers

Devon Chang is a senior at Tufts University studying Sociology and International Relations, with a focus on globalization. She examines how global forces like migration and technological change continue to reshape societies’ negotiation of pluralism and integration. She sees communication as the critical bridge between complex debates and the publics they affect. She is also a Section Editor at the Tufts Observer and has served as a Policy Fellow with the Tufts AI Safety Student Association, examining governance frameworks for frontier AI. Devon works as a communications assistant for CEVIHE.

Lucy Morisse-Corsetti is a senior at Tufts University, studying political science and economics with a minor in finance. On campus, she is a member of Tufts Public Opinion Lab, serves on the executive board of Chi Omega, and is a member of Tufts Ethics Bowl. Her research interests include public opinion, gender, and partisanship, among others. Lucy works as a research and events assistant for CEVIHE.

Whitney Critchfield is a senior biology student at Tufts. She is interested in ecology and conservation and plans to pursue a career at the intersection of biology and law.  Critchfield also studies Spanish at Tufts and spent her junior fall in Madrid, Spain, immersed in the language and culture. Critchfield is active in civic engagement at Tufts. She is a co-founder and the current President of the Tufts Tribune as well as co-president of the Tufts Federalist Society. Outside of academics, Critchfield is a coxswain on the Men’s Varsity rowing team. Critchfield is a native of Florida, but spent time living in central Iowa and suburban Washington, DC during her childhood. Whitney works as a research assistant for CEVIHE.

Nicholas Dohr is a senior political science and civic studies major with a focus on Latin America. Nick has worked in both the state legislature and the state executive office, focusing on policy and helping constituents as he explores what his future will look like. In addition, he conducted research with Professor Eitan Hersh last summer on volunteering and civic activism. In his free time, he is one of the executive organizers of TEDxTufts, helping plan, coordinate, and facilitate the yearly conference that his team puts on. He is also a competitive cyclist and will spend his upcoming summer racing in Belgium. He contributes to the Tufts athletic community through his work with Jumbocast, where he comments on sports games, and with the Tufts Athletics Communications department. Nick works as an events and administrative assistant for CEVIHE.

Gretta Goorno is a senior from Massachusetts majoring in Political Science and History. On campus, she has served as the Executive Opinion Editor and a Managing Editor for the Tufts Daily, helping students, alumni, and residents of Medford and Somerville articulate their beliefs and ensuring journalistic integrity across all departments of the newspaper. Last summer, Gretta served as a Congressional intern in Washington, D.C. for Rhode Island Representative Gabe Amo. She also plays club ice hockey for Tufts and enjoys listening to music and swimming in the Mystic. Gretta works as an administrative and research assistant for CEVIHE.

Nicole Mousad is a junior from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, who is studying Political Science and Spanish. She is the Co-Founder and Co-President of Homelessness Outreach and Meal Equity (HOME), which serves local unhoused and low-income communities through group volunteer trips to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and food pantries. She serves as Vice President of the Tufts Federalist Society, which hosts debates and panel discussions on pressing political and social issues, bringing in speakers from across the political spectrum. Nicole is also the media director for the Tufts Tribune, a free speech publication dedicated to covering diverse perspectives. As part of her coursework, she is involved in the Tufts Education and Reentry Network (MyTERN), which supports returning citizens through community building, restorative justice, and education. Nicole works as an administrative, events, and research assistant for CEVIHE.

Jack Smart is a junior at Tufts University, double-majoring in International Relations with a focus on the Middle East and Arabic Language & Cultural Studies. His academic interests span regional power dynamics, AI’s role in the future of global affairs, and AI law and policy. Outside the classroom, Jack is a photographer — running his own business, Smartflics, and shooting for Tufts Athletics — alongside playing sports like golf, ultimate frisbee, and board games with friends. Jack works as an events photographer for CEVIHE.

Catie Samaan is a senior studying Political Science and Philosophy. She is a member and former Philanthropy Chair of ATO, a Leader for Tufts Wilderness Orientation, a Treasurer of Planned Parenthood Action, a Social Chair for Club Ice Hockey, and a Volunteer Tutor for Potencia and Hillel Community Action Partners. She is currently interning at Bloomberg on the climate finance team. Catie works as a research and programs assistant for CEVIHE.

Michael Onysko is a senior at Tufts, double-majoring in Political Science and International Relations with a pre-law interest. He serves as a Class Senator and Associate Treasurer for the Tufts Community Union Senate, helping oversee club funding for over 400 student organizations. Michael is also a former Deputy News Editor at The Tufts Daily and a staff writer for The Tufts Tribune, further exploring his interests in journalistic writing and campus engagement through investigative coverage. Outside of campus, he has pursued his pre-law interests through legal casework and research involving immigration and criminal defense matters. Michael also spent time at the United Nations this past summer, representing the non-profit Peace Boat US in military disarmament and peace advocacy. Michael works as a program evaluation and events assistant for CEVIHE.
