Edge Fellowship

The Edge Fellowship brings together a small cohort of Tufts undergraduates who want to lead with humility and courage as they confront the political, cultural, and moral challenges of the modern world. Fellows are part of a tight-knit community of serious students committed to deep learning and to grappling thoughtfully with contested issues from multiple perspectives. Through camaraderie and skill building, close work with faculty and staff mentors, and a rigorous first-year curriculum with two required courses, one each semester, fellows develop the intellectual capacity and civic maturity needed to pursue life’s big questions.

Fall 2026 applications are now closed, and decisions have been sent. Incoming Fall 2027 students will be invited to apply to the Edge Fellowship through the applicant portal after they are accepted to Tufts.

  • Students admitted through EDI can apply by our EDI deadline in February 2027 (TBA).
  • Students admitted through EDII can apply by our EDII deadline in March 2027 (TBA).
  • Applications will be considered on a rolling basis through April and May. Students admitted through EDI, EDII, and Regular Decision can apply by our final deadline in May 2027 (TBA).

Interested students are encouraged to apply early. Fellows will be selected from among admitted incoming first-year students in the School of Arts and Sciences (A&S), excluding BFA and SMFA combined degree students. Students must be on campus throughout their first year.
